CONFIRMED: Kai Havertz reveals his preferred shirt number at Chelsea

According to The Athletic’s Simon Johnson, new Chelsea signing Kai Havertz has asked to take Fikayo Tomori’s No 29 shirt for the upcoming Premier League season as the defender prepares to move to Everton on loan.

Havertz wore the No 29 when he was at Bayer Leverkusen and he has reportedly requested to wear the number at Chelsea.

“Been told Kai Havertz asked to take Tomori’s No 29 shirt number on joining #CFC,” Johnson said on Twitter.

“It’s his favourite number having worn it at Bayer Leverkusen.

“Tomori was happy to oblige (and that was before talks over loan to #EFC stepped up).”
