According to Sky Sports, Brazilian centre-back Thiago Silva has completed his Chelsea medical in Milan.
The medical took place in Milan on Thursday and the 35 year old Brazilian is expected to fly from Italy to London on Friday to begin a 14-day period of self-isolation before joining up with Frank Lampard’s squad.
Sky Sports claim Silva will join Chelsea on a 12-month contract with an option to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge for a further year.
Silva would become the sixth Chelsea signing of the summer after Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Xavier Mbuyamba, Ben Chilwell and Malang Sarr.
