CONFIRMED: Player confirms he’s leaving Chelsea for Premier league rival in coming days

Michy Batshuayi initially joined Crystal Palace two seasons ago in January. After a poor first half of the season in Valencia, he actually did quite well at Palace and scored regularly, even in relatively few games.

It’s no surprise then that they are interested in taking him back this season, given that they still haven’t found a long term striker solution up front.

The whispers have been around for a while, but today they reached a new level, with West London Sport carrying quotes from the Belgian from a radio show back in his native country.

He scored twice for Belgium against Iceland last night, and after the game he told RTBF that the stories about him going to Palace are “on the right track”, making it sound a lot like a deal is close now.

He finally had his year competing for a starting spot at Chelsea, and he just wasn’t up to it. That appears to be how the Michy story ends at Stamford Bridge.
