Confirmed: Tuchel rules out Chelsea star for Barnsley clash
Experienced Chelsea centre-back Thiago Silva was forced off the pitch in the first half of Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Spurs after suffering a thigh injury.
The 36-year-old also missed the game against Sheffield United, and has been ruled out of the FA Cup clash against Barnsley.
However, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel in his press conference today, admitted that the Brazilian is making progress in his recovery from injury and will be back in action soon.
“Thiago is out for tomorrow for sure,” said Thomas Tuchel.
“He feels better and better though, which is good and he’s getting the right treatment. One thing we can be sure of with Thiago though is that he will be spending every minute available to him to speed up the process of healing.
“It is a muscle injury though so we cannot force it and we will wait for Thiago.”
