Crazy money! Check out How much Chelsea will earn for participating in European Super League
Chelsea will earn up to €350m for being among the founding members of the European Super League, as per multiple sources.
It was confirmed on Monday morning that American investment bank JP Morgan will finance the Super League with a staggering $6 billion in debt, although the bank is yet to officially confirm this figure.
Each of the 12 founding members could receive up to €350m just for agreeing to take part.
Founding teams like Chelsea could be earning up to €200m per year for participating in the Super League as opposed to the €60-70m they make from the Champions League yearly.
The founding clubs are not heeding the warning about a potential ban from UEFA and FIFA and have proceeded to officially announce the Super League.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich was not named in the Super League board; Liverpool owner John Henry was reportedly named as one of the Super League’s vice-chairmen.
