David Alaba responds to Chelsea’s interest ahead of possible January move
Bayern Munich star David Alaba’s contract with Bayern is set to expire next summer and he is yet to agree a contract extension with the German champions.
Alaba reportedly wants £280,000 a week to extend his contract but Bayern Munich are unwilling to meet his demands.
Chelsea are among the clubs said to be interested in the Bayern star who can play as a fullback, a centre-back and a defensive midfielder.
According to the Mirror, David Alaba is said to be appreciative of the interest Frank Lampard has shown in him as Chelsea plan transfer talks.
Bayern are believed to have withdrawn their offer for Alaba, claiming his representatives were taking too long to respond.
Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer confirmed earlier this month that Alaba rejected Bayern Munich’s latest contract offer.
He said: “We submitted to David and his adviser some time ago what we think was a very good offer.
“The answer was that the offer was still unsatisfactory and we should think about it again. We then decided to take the offer completely off the table. This means there is no longer an offer.”
According to Bild, Ligue 1 champions PSG are also interested in the defender, as well as Real Madrid and Juventus.
