Back in January 2019, German giants Bayern Munich were keen on signing Chelsea academy product Callum Hudson-Odoi, and the Bavarians made multiple bids for the Chelsea youngster, including a £35m bid, which was rejected by the club.
Hudson-Odoi was in good form at the time and was nearing the end of his Chelsea contract. He handed a transfer request to the club, which was rejected, and Frank Lampard eventually convinced him to sign a new contract.
With Chelsea having made massive signings to the first team squad, reports from Germany claim that Bayern Munich are back in for the 19-year-old.
According to Sky Germany, the Bundesliga champions have contacted Hudson-Odoi’s representatives once again, to discuss a fresh move. The report claims that Bayern are interested in a loan deal which includes an option to buy, but have so far not yet made an official bid.
Hudson-Odoi is yet to reach back top form since recovering from a long term injury, and the Blues academy product who was already forcing his way into the team two seasons ago, managed to get some game time last season, howbeit, off the bench.
Hudson-Odoi scored three goals and registered six assists in 33 appearances for Chelsea last season, including a starting berth against Bayern Munich in the second leg round of 16 Champions League clash. The young winger must have impressed the Bavarians yet again in last month’s Champions League tie between the two sides.
Timo Werner’s former side RB Leipzig are also believed to be interested in a move for Hudson-Odoi, but can’t match his current wages of £120,000 per week.
