Deal DONE: Chelsea owner reason for Bayer Leverkusen playmaker deal

Chelsea are the most busiest club in the transfer market so far and have already completed six summer signings and still on the run to complete two more signings before the start of new season.

However, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich supposedly played a persuasive part in the deal to sign Bayer Leverkusen young playmaker Kai Havertz.

After a long period of speculation, Chelsea reported signing the Germany playmaker on a five-year contract on Friday night.

Kai Havertz becomes the most recent star name to move to Stamford Bridge, joining the likes of Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Thiago Silva.

Meanwhile, report claims, it was Roman Abramovich who pushed the hardest when it came to concluding the deal.

While Frank Lampard was supportive of the signing of the 21-year-old, the report proposes that Roman Abramovich needed to profit by having less competition for the playmaker’s signature.

Kai Havertz has moved to Stamford Bridge for a fee in the area of £72m, plus add-ons.n addition to additional items.
