The 39 year old Argentine goalkeeper joined Chelsea from Manchester City in the summer of 2017.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel needs a new third-choice goalkeeper after Willy Caballero left the club following the expiry of his contract.
According to Daily Star, Tuchel wants someone equally as experienced and could turn to Wayne Hennessey as a result.
Hennessey, 34, is available on a free transfer after leaving Crystal Palace, where he made 132 appearances in eight seasons.
