Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has a number of positions that he is looking to strengthen in his squad this summer, and one of those is the left back area.
All the speculation seems to surround Ben Chilwell and the possibility of him being pursued by Chelsea this summer.
But the England international would not come cheap, and Chelsea may need to look at a less expensive alternative. One of those would be Ajax full back, Nicolas Tagliafico.
The Argentine international has been touted as a Chelsea target and according to Mundo Deportivo (as translated by Sport Witness), Chelsea are one of the clubs to have made an offer thought to be around €25 million for Tagliafico.
The 27-year old is now going to chose between Chelsea and Atletico Madrid, according to the same report.
However, the reliable transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has already ruled Atletico out of the move meaning it could be wide open for Chelsea, who will surely use Tagliafico’s former Ajax team mate Hakim Ziyech to help convince the left back to join him at Chelsea.
