Chelsea have already secure the signing of Ajax winger Hakim Ziyech, who has already commenced training with is new team-mates, and beat Liverpool to the services of Germany international striker Timo Werner.

However, The Blues have shipped 54 goals – more than any other team currently in the top half of the table – and the form of record signing Kepa Arrizabalaga has been largely responsible.

According to ESPN, Lampard has already lost patience with the 25-year-old and fears he will struggle to develop into the authoritative, commanding goalkeeper he requires to advance his rebuilding job.

Chelsea are said to be close to adding another attacking player, Kai Havertz, to their squad and once that deal is complete Lampard will turn his attentions to signing a new No.1.

The Blues have been linked with the likes of Oblak, Andre Onana, Marc Andre ter Stegen and Manchester United’s Dean Henderson, who has excelled while on loan at Sheffield United.

Lampard, however, wants to recruit an experienced goalkeeper which would rule out the possibility of making a move for 23-year-old Henderson who has only one season of top flight experience under his belt.
