Djibril Cisse believes Thibaut Courtois regrets leaving Chelsea this summer

The Belgian went AWOL from training to force his move to the La Liga giants

And ex-Liverpool man Cisse believes the 27-year-old is having second thoughts about Real Madrid

Speaking to RMC Sport about Courtois’ struggles in Madrid, the Frenchman said: “Thibaut Courtois? It probably was not necessary to recruit a goalkeeper at Real.

“Courtois must be having second thoughts about having left because Chelsea are going forward, and his new club is not.”

The Belgian has finally managed to keep a clean sheet against Real Valladolid last weekend after a dreadful month of October in which he has gone without witnessing a win with Los Blancos.

In fact, his last victory came on September 22 against Espanyol. Since when the goalkeeper and Real Madrid have gone on a five-game winless run in La Liga:

in the clashes against Sevilla, Atletico, Alaves, Levante and Barcelona.

The only wins Real Madrid witnessed in that period were achieved in the Champions League and Copa del Rey: Keylor’s competitions. Courtois also conceded 13 goals in these eight games with five of them he shipped in the latest disastrous Clasico at the Camp Nou stadium.
