Chelsea have officially announced Serie A side Atalanta have today exercised their option to sign Mario Pasalic on a permanent deal.
The Croatian midfielder is currently spending his second year on loan at the Italian side and will now join them permanently ahead of next season.
Pasalic played a key role as Atalanta finished third in the Serie A last season and have helped them book a place in the Champions League quarter-finals after a convincing 8-4 aggregate win over Valencia.
Since joining Atalanta on loan last season, Pasalic has played 75 times for the Bergamo-based team, scoring 15 goals.
Since moving to Stamford Bridge in 2014 from Hajduk Split in his native Croatia, Pasalic has spent time on loan at Elche, Monaco, AC Milan and Spartak Moscow.
However, The 25 year old failed to make a single appearance for the Blues.
