Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has been handed a financial boost in the pursuit of his transfer targets after the club received €15 million for the transfer of a Chelsea midfielder.
According to credible Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, Serie A club Atalanta have taken the option to buy the Chelsea loanee Mario Pasalic permanently for a fee of €15 million ahead of the next transfer window.
Schira tweeted: “Done deal! Atalanta use the option to buy Mario Pasalic. They pay €15M to Chelsea. All confirmed what I said last march.”
Pasalic joined Chelsea from Hadjuk Split in his native country of Croatia in 2014 but has spent the last two seasons on loan at Atalanta, helping the Italian club qualify for their first Champions League last season.
Pasalic joined Chelsea on a €2.5 million deal in 2014 but failed to make any appearance for the Blues. The 25-year-old enjoyed successful loan spells at Elche in La Liga, Monaco in Ligue 1, and AC Milan in the Serie A before joining Atalanta on loan.
