Done & Dusted: Chelsea reach agreement on transfer of midfielder

Chelsea have agreed a deal in principle to sell Tiemoue Bakayoko to Napoli next summer. This is According to Daily Mail.

The Blues will make a loss of £24million on Bakayoko after agreeing to sell the Frenchman for £16million. Bakayoko signed from French side Monaco for £40m in summer 2017.

Despite making 43 appearances for the Blues in his first season at the club, Bakayoko failed to impress and was sent out on loan to AC Milan and Monaco.

Bakayoko is currently on loan at Napoli and the Italian club want to make the transfer permanent. He has featured in every game for Napoli since his move on transfer deadline day in October, including two appearances in the Europa League.

Napoli boss Gennaro Gattuso – himself a former central midfielder – managed Bakayoko during his spell at the San Siro in 2018/19.

And following an excellent debut against Atalanta, Gattuso said: “Bakayoko has this technique that is all his own, because he has this first touch and long legs that make him break away from you in the midfield and he’s tough to catch.”
