Eden Hazard reacts to possible Sergio Ramos move to Chelsea
Chelsea have been linked with Sergio Ramos in the past, but that was before the signing of Thiago Silva as a free agent from PSG last summer.
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel needs another ball playing defender at the back, and with Ramos currently available on a free transfer, the Blues are being linked with the Spaniard again.
Now 35, one could wonder if Ramos can still play at the same top level, but former Chelsea star Eden Hazard has backed Ramos to carry on and hailed the quality of his departed captain.
“I wish him the best,” said Hazard in his pre-match press conference ahead of Belgium’s tie with Finland.
“I would have liked to have kept playing with him. “We were together for two years.
“He is a leader.”
Hazard went on to state that Ramos’ career at the highest level of professional football is far from over.
“He still has many goals to score,” he said. “He is one of the best defenders in football’s history.
“I hope that he carries on enjoying it.”
