Eden Hazard: What Modric Told Me When I Begged Him For No.10 Shirt

Recently unveiled Real Madrid forward, Eden Hazard has revealed how he sent former Chelsea teammate, Mateo Kovacic to asked Luka Modric to release Real’s No10 shirt to him.

Hazard said Modric refused to let him have the number 10 jersey and added that he was not worried about shirt number or penalty kick responsibilities.

The Belgian, who has completed a move to Santiago Bernabeu, said he was rather concerned about fitting in with his new team-mates now that he’s finally with the club.

Hazard completed a €100 million (£88m/$112m) move from Chelsea last week.

Hazard had the No.10 shirt at Stamford Bridge with Luka Modric currently holding onto the shirt number at Real Madrid.

“I’ve talked to Modric through Kovacic. I jokingly asked him if he could leave me No10, he said no, I have to find another number,” Hazard was quoted by Goal.

“For me the number is not important, but to play with this shirt, with this badge.”
