Chelsea forward, Christian Pulisic, is a favorite among his teammates, according to Pat Nevin.
On Saturday, October 8, the Blues overcame Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-0 in the Premier League thanks to a goal from Pulisic. For Graham Potter’s team, the American scored the second goal of the contest.
With a looping header off a Mason Mount cross, Kai Havertz gave the Blues the lead. The second goal was scored by Pulisic, and Mount again was the creator. In the 89th minute, Armando Broja scored to give the Blues a lead.
Nevin claimed that Pulisic enjoys high levels of support from his teammates because after scoring, all but the goalkeeper ran to join the former Borussia Dortmund star in celebration. He stated the following to BBC Radio 5 Live, according to thechelseachronicle:
“What was most noticeable after that [goal], every single Chelsea player, bar the goalkeeper, ran right to the corner to go all over Pulisic, to say ‘We’re with you mate’. He’s a very popular player, and that’s a very popular goal around here.”
The 24-year-old has now scored one goal and provided one assist in 10 games for the Blues so far this campaign.
Graham Potter’s team are now in fourth place in the league table with a tally of 16 points from eight games.
