‘Everyone should learn from him, He’s a great example’ — Cesar Azpilicueta hails Chelsea player positive attitude
Following Chelsea’s 2-1 FA Cup victory over Plymouth on Saturday at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea skipper Cesar Azpilicueta has hailed Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga for his impressive performance.
However, with Chelsea leading 2-1, Plymouth were given a lifeline late in extra time after Chelsea defender Malang Sarr conceded a penalty but Kepa proved to be the hero as he saved the penalty.
Kepa came to the rescue with a fine penalty save, and Azpilicueta didn’t only praise him for his performance in that game, but also his attitude despite having lost his position as first choice goalkeeper.
Cesar Azpilicueta said: “Kepa is brilliant,”
“He is a great example to everybody. He has gone through a lot of difficulties at this club, but he has always had a positive attitude.
“He looks at himself, improves for the team, even if it’s not easy to be number two. He always supports Edou. We have a fantastic group of goalkeepers, Edou, Kepa, Marcus, with Hilario the goalkeeping coach. Whoever plays is ready and we saw that again.”
