Exciting message sent as Chelsea ‘ready to sign’ £100M duo ‘who are no longer wanted’
According to the head of Sky Sports News Kaveh Solhekol, Chelsea is prepared to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Frenkie De Jone this summer.
Chelsea is waiting until the final few weeks of the season to close some transactions because they did not complete all of their desired transfer agreements this summer.
And as a result, there have been media speculations claiming that Chelsea is interested in both De Jong and Aubameyang, both of whom are expected to leave Barcelona this summer because they are no longer required by the team.
Now – amid all the speculation – Solhekol has opened up and claimed that Chelsea are not ready to pay the big money to secure deals for the duo – he told Sky Sports: “Chelsea are ready to sign both Frenkie de Jong and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona if the La Liga club allow both players to leave.
“Of course, Manchester United have already agreed a £72m fee with Barcelona for De Jong. Chelsea are willing to match that £72m offer and significantly, they can offer him Champions League football which Manchester United can’t.
“As far as Aubameyang is concerned, he moved to Barcelona on a free transfer from Arsenal in January. He’s happy at Barcelona, but he has a very, very good relationship with Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel.
“Tuchel won’t talk about Aubameyang in public too much but everybody knows, Aubameyang scored 79 goals for him in two seasons at Borussia Dortmund. Tuchel would like to bring him to Chelsea .”
