Fabregas singles one Chelsea player out who runs the game against Watford. it’s not Pulisic

There were a number of impressive performers out there, with Christian Pulisic against looking like a live-wire and significant improvements in defence after Cesar Azpilicueta’s move to the left side.

But Cesc Fabregas was focused entirely on one man – Mason Mount. He picked out the Chelsea number 19 for special praise, saying it was “all Mason Mount” at Stamford Bridge.

Mount had a great game, and was instrumental in the team’s beautiful first goal.

He picked the pass to Ross Barkley between the lines to disrupt an organised Watford’s shape, allowing his England colleague to pass to Olivier Giroud to score.

That’s what Arsenal fans call a “pre-assist”.

As ever, he was also scrambling around defensively too, winning the ball and providing cover for his teammates.

It’s going to be important that he keeps his levels up in this second half to stop another performance like the one we saw in midweek against West Ham.
