Fabrizio Romano confirms double signings for Chelsea after UCL final clash
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are planning a double contract extension for after the Champions League final.
The Italian transfer insider is clearly feeling a little left out by the fact that all the attention is on some actual football for once, so he’s decided to drop some “news” – albeit news easily deduced just from reading the tea leaves – on the eve of the game tonight.
He says that the Blues will active Thiago Silva’s extra year of contract, which was pretty predictable given how well he’s played, how well the team has done, and how much Thomas Tuchel likes him.
Tuchel is the other man mentioned, with an extension on his short initial deal now expected to be agreed shortly after the final tonight.
Did you really think it would be any different?
These two will be important tonight, and probably long beyond that. The sooner we have them signed up, the better.
