‘Final like this? Don’t say that’ as Tuchel reacted to Club World Cup victory
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has really taken Chelsea to the top of the world within just a year at Stamford Bridge, as the Blues has won 3 major trophies in just year. The Champions League, Super Cup and now winning the Club World Cup.
Meanwhile, Tuchel bagging another trophy into Roman Abramovich’s cabinet makes the Blues won the Club World Cup for the first time in the Club history.
Following the victory Thomas Tuchel has reacted to the victory; Thomas Tuchel told Channel 4 after the Palmeiras game, as quoted by SI.
Tuchel said: “In the end, if you score late you need luck,”
“We were relentless, we were trying. We did not stop. We took the effort, did not give in, had the lead and lost it.
“We never stopped attacking, it’s deserved but lucky.
“As boys we dreamed to have finals like this, very special. We wanted to play with no regrets.”
Chelsea put in an—let’s be honest here—underwhelming performance. The Blues were toothless in attack and barely created any clear-cut chances throughout the game.
Yet Romelu Lukaku scored a brilliant header early in the second half and Kai Havertz brought us the win with a finely executed spot-kick in extra time.
