BREAKING: FIFA confirms man of the match and player of the tournament as Blues wins Club World Cup
Finally, Chelsea are champions of the world as the Blues defeated Brazilian side Palmeiras 2-1, in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup.
However, Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger won the man of the match for his performance in the final, but it was Thiago Silva who was named the best player of the tournament at the FIFA Club World Cup.
The 37-year-old has won this trophy for the first time in his career, and he’d definitely be pleased to have left PSG for Chelsea.
Silva has now won three trophies since signing up for Chelsea — Champions League, Super Cup and Club World Cup — and he’d be hoping to add the Caaabao Cup to his collection later this month, when Chelsea face Liverpool at the Wembley Stadium on February 22.
