Chelsea have been linked with Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho, but the price tag of the young English talent might chase away interested clubs, with Manchester United also keen on his signature.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein has claimed the club have made it clear they won’t sell the 20 year old for anything less than £105 million.
The report, however, adds that Dortmund are willing to accept payments in parts from potential suitors, but will not lower the price for Sancho.
This move is obviously a ploy to dissuade potential suitors from coming for their asset, and perhaps, make a lot of money off the ones bold enough to, with the harshness of finances around football at the moment.
Speaking further, Ornstein said: “Sancho has an agreement with Dortmund that he can leave in the months ahead if a suitable proposal arrives and his camp are optimistic that will happen. The Londoner would then have to decide whether he wants to depart now or wait until next year.
“There is no desperation to go on his part and neither side would have a problem if the desired outcome did not emerge. Clubs have been informed that he does not intend to make up his mind until the season is complete.”
