“Fitter and sharper” – Burnley boss reveals why Chelsea beats his team 4-0
Following Chelsea’s 4-0 victory over Burnley, Sean Dyche believes his team had an excellent first-half against Chelsea and limiting Chelsea to just one big chance compared two or three that Burnley had.
However, Dyche claimed his team lost because their performance dipped in the second half and Chelsea capitalised.
Dyche told BBC Match of the Day: “We had a very strong first half – we were excellent. We defended very well, we kept them to minimal chances. I think they only had one but we had two or three really big moments.
“Too many performances dipped a little bit [in the second half] and these teams capitalise. That’s why they are where they are.
“You’ve then got to try and manage it as best you can. If the game’s got away from us, you’ve got to think about the next stage – at the moment that’s about getting players fitter and sharper.”
