“For what he’s doing i think he deserve it” – Carlo Ancelotti finally reveals who deserves to win the Ballon d’Or award

As we all know Chelsea midfielder Jorginho was named as the UEFA best player of the year, after a wonderful season in Europe, and the Italy international is also being touted for the Ballon d’Or award.

However, Jorginho and Messi are favourites for the Ballon d’Or, but Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has backed French striker Karim Benzema to win the Ballon d’Or award.

Ancelotti said: “For what he’s doing and for what he’s done, he has to be in the list of possible winners

“Saying that, Karim’s got time to win it. I somehow doubt this is his final season – he’s like a fine wine; the older he gets the better he is.”

Benzema has had a wonderful start to the season and is having a phenomenal year so far, but he didn’t achieve anything to surpass Jorginho who literally won everything in Europe.

Jorginho may go on to be the first Chelsea player to win the Ballon d’Or while playing for the club. The closest was Frank Lampard who came second behind Ronaldinho in 2005.
