Forget Moises Caicedo and get me this World Cup winner – Pochettino tells Chelsea board

According to Evening Standard, Chelsea are interested in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes after becoming frustrated by a lack of progress in their move for Moises Caicedo.

Brighton rejected Chelsea’s last offer of £80million for Caicedo and are demanding Chelsea pay over £100million for the Ecuadorian midfielder.

Caicedo wants to move to Stamford Bridge but Brighton are not willing to lower their asking price and Chelsea are now considering alternatives.

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino worked with Paredes at PSG and has told the Chelsea hierarchy to sign the midfielder.

The 29-year-old, who won the World Cup with Argentina last year, is in the last year of his contract in Paris and is available at a reasonable price.
