‘Forget Tammy Abraham! Tuchel ready to give opportunity to player who ‘vows’ to be the next Didier Drogba

Thomas Tuchel has limited striking options available to him, with Olivier Giroud set for a summer exit and Timo Werner is now seen as a wide player.

Tammy Abraham could also leave this summer, with Aston Villa keen on the Chelsea striker.

According to reports, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is considering the possibility of Armando Broja staying at the club next season.

Broja netted 11 times in the Eredivisie on loan with Vitesse and was one of the top scoring teenagers in Europe’s top leagues.

Reports claim that the 19-year-old will be given an opportunity to impress Tuchel in pre-season and could earn a place in the squad next season if he impresses the Blues boss.

Broja is well rated in the Chelsea camp and smashed the goals for fun while playing for the youth team. The young striker had revealed back in April that his target was to surpass his hero, the legendary Didier Drogba.

Speaking to Goal whilst on loan with Vitesse, he said of his time at Cobham: “I was like: ‘Wow! That’s Frank Lampard, [Didier] Drogba or John Terry right in front of me’ when I would see them around.

“I loved to take pictures with them because I wanted to be them. I wanted to be in their shoes at the top level.

“Now I am approaching the age they were when they were playing, I want to try and surpass Drogba. It might not be easy, but that’s my mentality and how I am feeling.”
