‘Forget Ziyech £48m signing could be offloaded by Chelsea in coming weeks
According to reports, Chelsea are planning to sell forward Timo Werner after just one campaign at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have been linked with a few centre-forwards this summer after the German failed to deliver in his maiden Premier League season.
According to Sky in Germany, the club are asking around to see if an elite European club would like to land Werner.
The 25-year-old star managed just six goals in 35 top-flight appearances last term after his £48 million switch in July 2020.
Despite his form, Timo remains one of his country’s most revered strikers after scoring 28 Bundesliga goals for RB Leipzig during the 2019-20 term.
Rumours suggest they will use the forward’s previous form to tempt a buyer in the transfer market and raise cash ahead of a swoop for Erling Haaland.
The Borussia Dortmund ace is believed to be the West London side’s No1 strike target – but Die Borussen reportedly want £150 million.
Erling’s recent form is similar to Timo’s Bundesliga exploits, scoring 40 goals in 43 division outings for Dortmund.
If Chelsea fail to sign the Norway international, it’s said they will make a £50 million bid for Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski.
The 32-year-old world-class forward is another Bundesliga favourite having hit a remarkable 277 goals in Germany’s top flight.
