Frank Lampard ready to sell £90,000 a-week star as Chelsea closing in on Timo Werner signing

Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi is reportedly expected to be sold by London giants this summer as the West London close in on a deal for RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner.

The Merseyside Reds were long considered to be the frontrunners for Werner, however, Frank Lampard’s side have seemingly moved into pole position for the German centre-forward.

The 24-year-old is believed to arrive at Stamford Bridge ahead of the 2020-21 season, and according to football london, the deal is likely to see Belgian forward Mitchy Batshuayi making the switch from the club.

The 26-year-old Belgian attacker has only found back of the net once in 16 Premier League games during the 2019-20 season, while he has managed just eight league goals in 48 appearences for his current team since arriving from Marseille in July 2016.

Former Marseille forward has recently enjoyed successful loan spells with both Dortmund and Crystal Palace, however, the forward has been unable to show his best form for his parent team.

West Ham United are allegedly at the head of the queue for a player who could command a £40m fee during this summer’s transfer window.
