‘Get it done’,’That’s a steal’- Loads of Chelsea fans urge board to sign £32.4m-valued ace

Chelsea have reached out to Ajax over signing Andre Onana in the summer, according to a report from L’Equipe. Naturally, this latest link to the highly-rated goalkeeper has driven driven plenty of fans crazy.

It is fair to say the Sons of the Gods are becoming somewhat of a feeder club for Frank Lampard’s side, with the Blues having already poached Hakim Ziyech earlier this year.

After Kepa Arrizabalaga’s recent slump in form, Chelsea are in the hunt for a new keeper, and backroom staff have identified Onana as the perfect replacement.

The Spaniard has struggled for consistency this season, playing 25 matches in the Premier League, conceding 1.3 goals per game, making 1.7 saves on average, and receiving a mediocre rating of 6.59 via SofaScore.

In comparison, the 24-year-old Cameroonian has made 24 appearances in the Eredivisie, 1 fewer than his Spanish counterpart, conceding just 0.9 goals on average, completing 2.1 saves per game, and being recognised with a higher SofaScore rating of 6.91. Onana’s market value is estimated at £32.4m via Transfermarkt.

The Blues’ controversial transfer ban has now been lifted, so the board are now free to sign players in the upcoming transfer window, and it looks like West London could be in for a busy market if Roman Abramovich decides to splash the cash.

Chelsea blogger Simon Phillips shared the transfer update via Twitter, prompting loads of wild replies from a large section of the Stamford Bridge faithful. One eager fan urged Marina Granovskaia to “get it done” and another added an offer for the Barcelona academy graduate would be a “no brainer.”
