The Blues have been offered the chance to sign Mauro Icardi after Inter Milan rejected Paris Saint-Germain’s offer for the 27 year old striker.
PSG reportedly offered Inter Milan £54 million to make Icardi’s loan deal permanent but the Italian club turned down the offer.
The offer consisted of £44.7 million up front plus a further £8.9 million in add-ons.
According to Sky Sport Italia and Gazzetta Dello Sport, Inter Milan rejected PSG’s offer for Icardi because they want the £62.7 million fee required to make the loan deal permanent.
Chelsea have now been alerted to Icardi’s availability following Inter Milan’s rejection of PSG’s offer for the 27 year old striker.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is keen on signing a striker this summer and the Blues are now monitoring Icardi’s situation.
