According to Goal, Chelsea have finally reached an agreement with Rennes to sign goalkeeper Edouard Mendy with his medical already booked.
Chelsea have reportedly agreed a fee of around £22m ($29m) with Rennes for goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.
The 29-year-old has reached a verbal agreement on a five-year contract with Chelsea and is set to complete the relevant paperwork and undergo a medical upon his arrival in the United Kingdom.
Part of the negotiations had also included Rennes’ desire to take Fikayo Tomori on loan but the Blues have managed to keep Tomori out of the deal for Mendy.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard will be happy with the news on Mendy after the Blues had been in talks with Rennes all month for the transfer of the Senegalese international.
Mendy is expected to complete his Chelsea transfer this week and could make his Premier League debut against West Brom next weekend.
