GOOD NEWS: Roman Abramovich ready to back Lampard this summer on one condition

According to Simon Johnson of The Athletic, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is set to back Chelsea boss Frank Lampard in this summer’s transfer window.

The report claims Abramovich is prepared to back Lampard in the summer by adding two marquee signings to the squad, with a new left-back and an attacker thought to be high on Lampard’s wishlist.

Despite losing Eden Hazard to Real Madrid last summer, Chelsea have failed to make any addition to the squad in the last two transfer windows but Hakim Ziyech was signed from Ajax in February.

Questions have been asked of the commitment of Abramovich to Chelsea but the Russian billionaire is as enthusiastic as ever, and is prepared to sanction a couple of big-money arrivals in the summer as long as the deals are in alignment with the club’s transfer strategy.

Lampard is keen on signing Timo Werner, Jadon Sancho or Moussa Dembele to strengthen Chelsea’s attack while Ben Chilwell is a target for the left-back position.
