Granovskaia ‘still talking to agents and clubs’ and Lampard leads ‘discussions about potential first-team targets’

Although COVID-19 has shut down many operations in the world including our beloved football, it appears that some clubs are keeping business operations ticking over as usual.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard, like most of us, finds himself having lots of extra spare time, and he is using this wisely, according to a report from The Athletic.

They say that Lampard continues to lead discussions about potential first-team targets to supplement the arrival of Hakim Ziyech from Ajax.

And Blues Director Marina Granovskaia is continuing to talk to clubs and agents over potential new departures and arrivals when the transfer window does reopen.

Chelsea were gearing up for a busy key summer in the transfer market, with 5 or 6 new players expected to arrive.

This of course could rather be up in the air due to the nature of the beast that the virus has created, but if this new buyer’s market is not tempered by the need to balance the books, Roman Abramovich will be presented with an opportunity not available to him for nearly a decade.
