Chelsea are set to announce a contract extension for Thiago Silva in the coming days after the Brazilian agreed to stay at the club.
A shock signing by Frank Lampard last summer, there were many in the media that believed Silva was passed his best and would not be able to keep up his levels in the Premier League.
However, his quality, ability and leadership on that pitch has made Chelsea so defensively quality and he has helped them get back into that top four spot, while also helping the club to another Champions League win

Now reports on the Metro website have claimed that Silva will be at the club next season after agreeing an extension at the club after helping the Blues to that famous win over City.
The report says Silva has now been convinced to stay at Stamford Bridge and that an announcement on his extension will come in the coming days.

Silva has been brilliant for Chelsea this season and has been the leader that the club have been missing over the past few seasons. So the news that he is about to sign a new contract will be great news. and welcomed by many of the fans.
Chelsea do need to signa few players in the transfer window, but making sure that Silva is there next season is a massive boost to the squad.
