Frank Lampard and the boys finally returned to training at Cobham last week as Government restrictions eased up after two months in lock down.
It was great to see the players back doing what they love to do, and it gave hope that football could soon be back on our screens at least.
With the German Bundesliga in it’s second week of return, The Premier League are pushing ahead with their plans to get the season resumed next month under ‘project restart’.
Training this week stayed contact free and at a distance, but that could soon change as they go into the next phase. The Government have given the green light for phase two to begin this week, and this will involve restricted contact, according to The Telegraph.
Clubs will now hold a meeting with the Premier League as they look to clear up protocols over what will happen if there are positive COVID-19 tests under the new phase.
Because of the new contact being allowed, they are concerned whether it will just need to be the player that tested positive going into isolation, or whether it will need to be all players who came in close contact with the subject.
