‘He has to figure that area, before is too late’ – Sinclair sends Roman Abramovich’s sack warning message to Tuchel
In a month’s time, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel will mark a year’s stay as the Chelsea head coach, and he has already won the Champions League.
However, Chelsea have had massive success under the Russian billionaire, but it has come at a price — as managers have often come and gone when the results go south.
It’s on record that no Chelsea manager has lasted up to four years in the Roman Abramovich era.
Current boss Thomas Tuchel seems to be the man that will break that awful record at Chelsea, and it seems that he has formed a fluid relationship with the Chelsea board.
Tuchel seems to be much appreciated for his work by the Chelsea board and fans, but former England International Trevor Sinclair has warned Thomas Tuchel that he could follow the Frank Lampard route if the recent blip continues.
Sinclair also urged Tuchel to try and get the best out of Romelu Lukaku who has scored just once in his last 11 games.
Sinclair said on talkSPORT: “I think it’s to be expected.”
“Thomas Tuchel has done superbly since he joined Chelsea, winning the Champions League, you look at the way he’s recruited by buying a top striker in Romelu Lukaku.
“He’s not getting the best out of Lukaku at the moment, but in general with the team Frank Lampard built, he’s organised them, he’s made them difficult to beat and they’ve gone on a run where they’ve been unbelievable.
“But they’re human, they’re always going to have a bit of a blip. He wants better in the basics, and the mentality from the players, and I’m sure they’ll get over it.
“However, you know what Chelsea are like, their footballing model is if the manager is not doing it, get shot and start again.”
