‘He is the specialist’ — Tuchel finally reveals plans for Ben Chilwell’s replacement
Ben Chilwell got off injured in the Champions League clash against Juventus, and it is believed that the England International will be out for a long time.
Chilwell had been in remarkable form before his injury, and Thomas Tuchel has a huge task of getting a worthy replacement to fill in that gap.
However, Tuchel has maintained that he’s counting on Marcos Alonso to fill in for the injured Ben Chilwell, but he also said that Callum Hudson-Odoi may have to step in as cover in that role.
“We have Marcos, who started the season for us when Chilly was in a bit of trouble and in a bit of a difficult moment,” Tuchel said in his press conference on Tuesday.
“We trust him, we won Premier League games with him, Marcos is very experienced.
“Also we still have Callum who can play on the left side as a wing back.
“We have some other ideas where we can maybe try, maybe have to try.
“But first of all Marcos is the one in charge, he is the specialist and he will prove how much he can bring to the team.”
