‘He would suit the way Chelsea play’ £80M star tipped for Stamford Bridge move
Everton forward and Brazil international Richarlison, according to Glen Johnson, would be a’sensible’ signing for Chelsea this summer.
Richarlison has been linked with all of the major teams in recent transfer windows, with many believing that he belongs at the top of the Premier League rather than at the bottom.
Following an unimpressive end to the 2021-22 season, Thomas Tuchel wants to strengthen his attacking options, and with reports claiming that Richarlison is now leaving Everton, the Blues are anticipated to make a bid.
Now, amid all of the conjecture about a man who has 53 goals in 153 games for Everton, Johnson has gone out and said that if Chelsea were to make a bid, he would be a good fit.
Johnson told BettingOdds. ‘I certainly believe he would suit the way Chelsea play more than Romelu Lukaku.
‘Whether he’s good enough to be their main man and get 20 goals a season, then I’m not so sure.
‘I do like him though and I think he’s a good player and it could be a sensible move if the fee is reasonable.’
Meanwhile, Richarlison was asked about his future at Everton earlier this month and said: ‘I’ve already made it clear to the board.
‘I’ve already talked to (Frank) Lampard too, with my agents and they know what I want. Let’s wait for June.
‘Now I can’t talk, because when we talk about leaving a club I’m kind of like this, because of the history I have at Everton, the affection that the fans have for me. When we talk about leaving I’m a little speechless.’
