‘He’s a mess, i should have dumped him’ — International head coach reveals regrets of not dumping Chelsea star
According to Morocco head coach Vahid Halilhodzic has omitted Chelsea midfielder Hakim Ziyech from his latest squad for the upcoming international games.
However, the Bosnian dumped Ziyech last month and claimed that the Morocco superstar had attitude problems — an accusation which saw the Chelsea star fire back at the Morocco boss via social media.
Halilhodzic has now said he should’ve dumped Ziyech long ago for his lack of discipline.
“Honestly, I regret that I didn’t make this decision sooner,” said Halilhodzic, quoted by Voetbalzone. “It is not one case of ill-discipline. We tried to talk to him, but you have to draw the line somewhere. It’s sad, it’s a mess, but also a shame.
“Ziyech has reached various limits. It is not one case, but an accumulation.
“After a while you just have to put a stop to that.”
Meanwhile, Ziyech had told Halilhodzic to be honest, as he captioned an Instagram post last month: “Next time when you speak, SPEAK THE TRUTH THEN..!!”
