‘He’s doing what Frank Lampard did to Tomori’ – Tuchel slams for bad treatment on Chelsea player
Former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard had brought Tomori into the limelight during his time at the club, but Lampard surprisingly dropped him back to the bench for more than half a season, until he had to leave the club.
However, A Chelsea fan has now accused Thomas Tuchel of doing same thing to young defender Trevoh Chalobah.
Alex Goldberg made his thought known on twitter after Chelsea’s defeat to Arsenal, and it has sparked different comments.
Alex Goldberg tweeted: “This treatment Trevoh Chalobah is getting from Tuchel smells a lot like the treatment Fikayo Tomori got from Frank Lampard.”
Chalobah last played for Chelsea when he came on as a substitute in Chelsea’s Champions League round of 16 win over Lille in March.
The youngster who featured much at the start of the season, has now missed the last seven games for Chelsea.
Thomas Tuchel had blamed his absence on bad form.
Asked about Chalobah’s recent absence, Tuchel said in a recent press conference: “It’s hard decisions at the moment. Maybe he thinks these decisions are against him but they are really for other players.
“We had Reece James playing in that position in the back three because of his physicality and speed against key players on the left side from opponents.
“Trevoh played a lot and had a very good season so far. He had a little dip in form some weeks ago but since then he’s back in full shape in training.
“We had a talk recently. I cannot prove it with game-time but he is exactly at the level where he was at the start of the season which is impressive because he’s overcome a period when he had some mistakes and was not so comfortable or reliable on the pitch.”
