“He’s good at free-kicks” – Pep Guardiola hails Chelsea transfer target as a ‘master player’

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has hailed Chelsea target Ivan Toney as a master player.

Guardiola made this statement after Manchester City managed to beat Brentford 1-0 on Tuesday night.

It was a difficult game for Guardiola’s side, and Toney was a beast against them.

City found it difficult to break down the Bees, and it took a 71st minute strike from Erling Haaland to seal the three points for City.

Speaking after the game, Pep Guardiola admitted it was a difficult match, and hailed Chelsea target, Toney for his performance.

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola said: “They’re such a difficult team. This season we lost six points [against Brentford].

“They have the ability with Ivan Toney – he’s a master player, a really good player. Other than that they’re really good at free-kicks, throw-ins and so on.

“We had a lot of chances considering how difficult it is to play against them, and we’ve won our game in hand. The performance was really good, once again, and I’m happy for the result.

“I think we had less chances in the second half than in the first. We struggled a little bit in the second half.”

Chelsea have been linked with a move for Ivan Toney and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen. It’s yet to be seen which of the strikers Chelsea will eventually sign.
