‘He’s here to compete’, ‘Best player after Palmer: Chelsea fans can’t believe what 20-year-old Chelsea star did following Preston win

Cole Palmer registered yet another assist as Chelsea blew Preston North End apart at Stamford Bridge in a 4-0 FA Cup third-round win. But it wasn’t the Englishman who got Blues fans talking on Saturday night. It was a certain Malo Gusto.

Gusto played at left back from the start and it was his brilliant cross that found the head of Armando Broja for the opening goal.

Pochettino then switched Gusto to the right and the Frenchman continued to cause all kinds of problems for the visitors. What’s more, Gusto has now registered four assists this season at Stamford Bridge – across all competitions no Chelsea player has more on home soil.

You understand why Chelsea fans have been singing Gusto’s praises to the high heavens since the final whistle against Preston. Here are some reactions.

????Conn: “The more I watch Gusto, the more I love him. What a signing.”

????Chelsea HQ: “Gusto and Palmer were both really good signings, credit where credit is due.”

????CFCBlue: “He is not here to be a backup, he is here to compete. Malo Gusto ????. What a signing ????????”

????Druw: “At the time of the signing, I said that Malo Gusto will prove to be one of the most important signings under the BlueCo Regime. He has been nothing short of amazing since joining Chelsea.”
