Pochettino reveals why he was disappointed despite 4-0 win over Preston

Chelsea cruise into the fourth round of the FA Cup with an emphatic 4-0 win at home to Preston North End on Saturday evening.

However, The Blues were made to work for their goals but they eventually found the killer touch required to get past the Lilywhites, putting on a clinic in the second half.

Meanwhile, Pochettino says he was disappointed after his Chelsea side didn’t show passion of winning this game in the first half.

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino speaking to BBC Sport: “Yes, a very good win. The first half, I was a little disappointed. We started so sloppy. I told the players at half-time we needed to increase the energy and match that of Preston.

“The second half was a completely different game. We dominated, created chances and deserved victory. We showed a lack of desire in the first half and we were talking too much about their energy. They were better than us in this area. I was really disappointed but, after we increased our level, we started to play and deserved to win.”

Chelsea are next into the next round and will be looking forward to keep going in the FACup…
