‘He’s not a natural finisher, don’t sign him’ — Tuchel receive ‘strong warning’ on top transfer target

The Blues are yet to make any signings since the start of the transfer window, but are looking forward to secure their first signing under Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel.

However, Chelsea had been linked with a move for Romelu Lukaku this summer, but the Belgian and his agent had since shut down those rumours by saying that they aren’t interested in any move away from Inter Milan.

Inter Milan had sold Achraf Hakimi as the club were deemed to be in a tight financial situation, but Lukaku’s agent spoke with the club and was told that they wouldn’t need to sell Lukaku in order to balance their books.

However, a new report from Euro sport claim that Lukaku is now open to a return to Stamford Bridge.

The report claims that although Lukaku is happy in Milan and is yet to push for a summer exit, he would jump at the chance to play a starring role for the Blues after struggling to hold down a first-team place during his previous spell at the club.

Meanwhile, Liverpool legend Steve Nicol has told the club that they shouldn’t make a move to see Lukaku return to Stamford Bridge.

Speaking to ESPN FC, Nicol said: “Chelsea are in a position now where if they sign a centre-forward, he has to be a natural finisher. That’s the one thing they’re missing.

“As many goals as Lukaku has, he’s not a natural finisher. He has been at Chelsea twice before.”
