“He’s not happy at Real Madrid, I must confess” – Belgium boss finally reveals why Hazard needs to go back to Chelsea
Eden Hazard spent seven years at Stamford Bridge and reached cult following with the club, but eventually chose to leave to Real Madrid at the end of the 2018-19 season.
However, the Belgian international was seen as the best player in the Premier League and one of the best in the world during his time at Chelsea.
Meanwhile, Belgium head coach Roberto Martinez had urged Hazard at the time to leave Chelsea if he wanted to become the best in the world, but three seasons down the line, Hazard is far from being the best.
Hazard has struggled for form in Spain and injury hasn’t helped his case. The 30-year-old Belgian is no longer in the Real Madrid first eleven, and Martinez has now claimed that Hazard isn’t a happy man at the moment and reveals why he must return back to Chelsea.
Martinez said on COPE’s show El Partidazo: “Hazard is medically in his best moment since he arrived at Real Madrid.”
“He is sad in football terms, this is the first time that he is experiencing this situation.
“He is a player who has always led winning projects and now he doesn’t have that role, but he is a footballer of exceptional talent and that is never lost, you have to have faith in him.”
