“He’s our player, so trust him” – as Arno Michels sends Chelsea player message to fans after poor performance against Plymouth
Following Chelsea’s 2-1 FA Cup victory over Plymouth on Saturday, Chelsea first-team coach Arno Michels insists Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku needs to be trusted after another poor performance.
Lukaku missed several chances and barely contributed to the build-up.
The Belgian is on a five-game goalless run, he has not scored since the Petersborough game on January 8.
Speaking about Lukaku after Plymouth victory, Arno Michels said: “He’s working a lot for the team, doing lots of touches, but is a little bit unlucky.
“We try to put him, give him opportunities and we will keep on going like this because he is an important player for us.
“He is our striker so he also needs some trust in moments he doesn’t score.”
