According to research, 18-year-old Chelsea defender ranks as number 2 among top 20 centre-backs — He can play the Rudiger role
However, Young Chelsea defender Levi Colwill has been ranked among the top-rated Under-20 centre-backs outside Europe’s top five leagues, according to a research by CIES Football Observatory.
The Switzerland-based research group came up with a ranking, based on their discovery, to predict the next big players playing in every position on the pitch.
The group came up with a list of 100 “next big-5 league stars” consisting of players born in 2002 and after, playing in 31 leagues outside the big-5 with the highest InStat index.
Chelsea defender Colwill, who is currently on a season-long loan at Huddersfield Town, is the second highest-rated centre-back on the list.
According to Opta stats, Colwill has made 20 appearances in the Championship this season, averaging 2.1 tackles and 1.3 interceptions per game.
Interestingly, the 18-year-old plays on the left side of a back three for Huddersfield — something similar to what Antonio Rudiger does for Chelsea.
